CLAT Exam

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is conducted by the National Law Universities for admission to the Undergraduate programme and Postgraduate programme(LL.M) in the following universities.

Candidates can avail the exam details from the official website of CLAT.

Application Procedure

Candidates can get the application from the universities which are CLAT members and in the State Bank of India by cash payment.
Candidates can get the application from the official website of CLAT. Those candidates who submit the application form downloaded from CLAT website must attach with the application form a demand draft of Rs. 2000/- or Rs. 2500/- as mentioned.

Age Limit

Age must not exceed 20 years for General and OBC candidates on the month of year of the examination.
Age must not exceed 22 years for SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities on the month of year of the examination.

Educational Qualification for Undergraduation

Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with an aggregate of 50%

Written Test for Undergraduation

English with Comprehension
This test carries 40 marks.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This test carries 50 marks
Numerical Ability
This test carries 20 marks.
Legal Aptitude
This test carries 45 marks
Logical Reasoning
This test carries 45 marks

Educational Qualification for Postgraduation (LL.M.)

Degree in LL.B/B.L. or its equivalent from a recognized university with an aggregate of 55%

Written Test for Postgraduation

There will be 50 objective type questions of one mark, 10 short answer questions of five mark and two essay writing questions of 50 marks in Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, Criminal Law, Constitutional Law and Legal Theory.
