Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) Examination

Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) Examination is held once a year by the different divisional offices of the Life Insurance Corporation.

Exam Notification

Notification of exam will be published in the month of July every year
Exam will be conducted in the month of September

Application Procedure

Candidates are necessarily required to register On-line for applying. No other means/mode of applications will be accepted. Candidates have to register on-line only after obtaining a receipt for payment of application fee, wherever applicable, at the cash collection centre of LIC. If not, applications will be invalid. Eligible candidates are required to log in to the designate dWebsite: for submission of applications on-line.On successful acceptance of appropriate validations in the online application form, candidates will be given a unique application Registration number which has to be quoted for all future references pertaining to this recruitment.

Age Limit

Age should be 21-30 years on 1st March of the year of the examination.
Age relaxation is available for candidates those who are SC/ST/OBC/ECO/SSRCO/Persons with Disabilities and Confirmed LIC employees.

Educational Qualification

Assistant Administrative Officers AAO (Generalist)
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree from a recognized university
Preference is given for candidates those who have completed professional courses like CFA/CS/FIIRM/MBA.
AAO (Chartered Accountants)
An associate member in the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India
AAO (Actuarially qualified)
A pass in Seven or more Subjects (Papers) of the Examinations conducted by the Institute of Actuaries, London or the Actuarial Society of India (excluding Paper - CT9 - Business Awareness Module) as on the date of eligibility.

Syllabus for the Examination

Paper I - Objective Test
Reasoning ability
This section consists of reasoning ability questions like arithmetical reasoning, computation and other analytical functions, symbols and their relationships, decision making etc.
Numerical ability
This section consists of numerical ability questions like arithmetical computation of numbers,decimals, fractions and relationship between numbers etc.
General Knowledge and Current Affairs
This section consists of general awareness questions.
General English
This section is used to test the grammar and vocabulary skills in English.
Paper II
Descriptive test
This section consists of essay writing, precis writing.


Shortlisted candidates shall be called for interview in the order of their ranking as per the marks obtained by them in the objective test.
